Team Trophy 2009 - Proposed Amendment

Seeing as the season is now well underway and the membership is blossoming, with a host of new members to the tour, all who are most welcome, I was taking a look at the membership nationalities, as those who have been with us over the past few years will be aware of the Team Trophy later in the year. This has been an ENG -vs- RoW event, due to how the numbers balanced across the membership. It now appears that these numbers are becoming slightly imbalanced, and doing some rough math, and casting an eye over the membership, it appears that a slight tweak to the teams may be in order.

Over all 3 tours, Handicap, Pro Scr and Champ/Elite Scr, I'm proposing that the teams are changed so that we have GB -vs- RoW. This means our current Scottish and Welsh contingent join forces with the English, to take on the challenge of our neighbouring European members along with our Australian, Canadian and American friends. Alternatively, if you can see another way of playing the Team Trophy, I'm all ears, lol.

Please vote in the poll how you feel about this proposal, and feel free to post any comments on the topic. The event doesn't take place until late Oct09, so we have plenty of time to get things sorted.

As at today the poll has been running for around 9 days with 18.75% of the membership offering their vote on the subject. I'll assume from this that either the majority of tour members are not bothered either way or that they just don't visit the forum all that often. The consensus at the moment appears to be that we go with my proposal and make the Team Trophy matches a GB -vs- RoW event, with 9 votes cast and all 9 being in favour of GB -vs- RoW.

So, I will be revising the current Team Trophy qualifying tables and re-allocating qualifying points accordingly for both GB and RoW lineups.
