Just joined, where to start?
Hello!
Just surfed around on the tours available and this one seemed nice
so I registered and now I wonder what to do.
maybe the rules could have a little bigger fonts or more space between the lines,
it is a bit hard to read.
There is a mention about Q-school, how do I do that?
and for the tournaments, I download the LTS and send back the .ver?
I still need to practise a lot, haven't played long with RTS.
I make an occasional birdie sometimes but I can easily miss the ball too
My best score so far is +13 at Druids Glen

Re: Just joined, where to start?
Roland,
Welcome aboard.
Apologies for the small size of the fonts on the rules page, I made them smaller due to there being quite a lot, lol.
Well, you've done the first bit, by signing up to the forum and effectively registering for the tour. I'm presuming you also v1.07 of Links 2003. If so, you're good to go.
The 'Q School' is basically your first 2 events on tour. You will be ineligible to win Handicap Tour events until you have 100% active status. so you are effectively playing the tour events whilst serving your 'qualifying period'. Download the LTS files, play the round and mail the .ver etc to the address generated by the LTS.
Obviously don't worry about the scores, just play and enjoy. Handicaps will adjust over time as IRL.
Any more questions, just shout up.
Daz

Re: Just joined, where to start?
Thank you
Well, I'll never win so I'm not worried about that
I just play because it's so fun and addictive,
After download and putting the file where it should be.
Do I do something in the Linksmenus before I start
or is it automatic?
I need to practise some more before I make public scores,
Last evening was embarrasing
I also need to find a caddie that doesn't fool me and gives me wrong clubs
I'll start when River East Dunes has begun,
that would give me some day...

Roland,
You join in when you're good and ready.
Once you have downloaded the LTS files and extracted them to the location of your choice, when you fire up Links, select Play Golf from the opening menu, then select Email Tourney. It will then prompt you for a .LTS to load. You then locate the .LTS file for Rd1, click OK and all the course, conditions, tees etc. are pre-selected. You then choose to Play Offline, select your tour player and away you go. You obviously repeat this procedure for Rds 2, 3 and 4.

Re: Just joined, where to start?
Yes, its up to you. depending sometimes on how fast your computer is.I find it gives more atmosphere with crowds, also depending on the course you may not get the option. and hats off to you playing RTS elite, have fun and enjoy.

Re: Just joined, where to start?
A heads up I forget to mention for the latest event, in case anyone thinks I've made an erro with the files, lol.
In the Crowds ZIP, the rounds at Pine Dunes have no galleries, as the course doesn't include them. Galleries will be present in the TAD River LTS files as they are an option on this course.
