HIO vs. Nearest Pin ?
Why is a HIO listed as Nearest Pin?
I know a HIO is nearest, but before they have been different...
Best wishes and thank you for your work with this tour

Re: HIO vs. Nearest Pin ?
Rolle,
It's a discussion that has cropped up in the past, and also recently on this forum.
http://wlsot.forumotion.net/suggestion-box-f2/nearest-the-pin-bonus-t52.htm
I have played several tours over the years I've played Links and some awarded NTP to a HIO and others stated it had to be closest to the hole without being in the hole.
Since running this tour and introducing the bonus shots, I applied the rule that a HIO would 'trump' any other shot entered for nearest the pin. The poll on the above forum thread link showed a 13-7 in favour of keeping things as they are.
If the award was 'Closest to the Hole' then maybe the ball would have to be on the green, but as some said, you can't get nearer the pin than in the hole, lol.
Usually I would nominate a hole for NTP and players were getting HIO's on other holes, so there ace wasn't counted on the NTP hole. As I have now tweaked the rule to allow bonus shot entries on any hole, the HIO will win.
