When is a rehit not a rehit?
That was pretty weird!
My erstwhile friend and probably soon to be ex playing partner, Mr Ivan Irons decided to go for the green on the 10th at Ti Iho watsitythinhgy and came up way short. rather than putting me back on the tee selecting rehit stuck me in the middle of a fairway 370+ yards away from the hole with me hitting. A rather nice shot from me left him nicely in an adjacent fairway around 185 yards away from the hole from where he proceded to dump it in the water again. Selecting rehit this time did put the ball in the correct place but this time he was hitting the rehit and at least managed to get it on the green. All told it was an 8.
Actually I believe I have seen this before and it think it is caused by the fact that he had actually holed the approach shot on the par 5 9th for an eagle. I think the rehit on the 10th actually placed the ball at the spot this shot was played from.
I actually got stung by both alt-shot bugs on the round because earlier I had played a ball into a bunker which clearly plugged. When Ivan played it it was not plugged and he also holed out. Of course we all know what happens next - my tee shot on the following par 3, although nicely hit, barely got half way to the hole because of the 'delayed' plug carried over.
Thinking about it, despite his name he's pretty rubbish with the irons but not a bad putter so I might just keep him.
Enjoyable format though.

Re: When is a rehit not a rehit?
Steve,
Sorry to hear about the bugs with the Alt-Shot. Not something I was aware of truth be told. I guess it's heads or tails as to if and when these will rear their heads dependent on how the round is going, and I guess it's the same for us all, lol.
As for the naming of the CPU players. Maybe I was a sneaky barstool an named them as such to throw everyone, lol. Again, they were actually named based upon their predominant values from their points make up, so if they are not performing in their respective 'strong' area, I'll blame the game, lol.
Pro-Am seems to have gone down well, with 28 entries so far, but this may well drop come the next event after the experiences some have had at Te Ihi O Te Rangi, lol.

Re: When is a rehit not a rehit?
Daz,
I think Alan summed it up.
I wasn't posting for a whinge, more for a laugh. Both of those bugs are part of the game and I'm pretty sure that most people that play a fair bit of multi-player will have see both happen many times. Just something to live with and smile about.
As far as the players go I think we all know the quirks with the AI players and again it's something to smile about. At least he didn't do what he did when i played a few practice holes. A couple of times when my tee shot just rolled into the rough he decided the only shot was to turn around and play the ball back towards the tee LOL.
I'm pretty sure that, for all his faults, I'll probably stick with Ivan for the next Pro-Am.
Glad you intoduced the Pro-Am, it's good fun.

Re: When is a rehit not a rehit?
i had a similar experience with my playing partner, charlie chip. He T'd of and tried going the green but came up way short out of bounds or in the water, and then decided to take drop instead of rehit. I ended up with the ball on the gren of the previouse hole hitting with a driver, of which it let me do, thought you couldn't hitanything other than putt on the green lol was very strange at the time
